The now former Governor of Chiapas and current Senator-Elect Manuel Velasco Coello had some great news today!

The state constitution was changed so that the new Governor remains as “interim” even if Velasco is serving as a Federal Congressman.

The changes mean that he could resign as senator and return as Governor, serving until the next scheduled state elections in December.

The leader of the state assembly denied that the sudden change of heart by the body was sparked as a request from Sen. (Gov?) Velasco Coello.
