There is a narrative (and one that is prominent on Kinja), that Trump is dead in the water, and a Democrat takeover is imminent. Here is a story that simply does not mesh with that narrative. Like or hate Fox, this is conservative news destroying its competition across a broad demographic.
I am not invested in this narrative. I voted for Gary Johnson in ‘16, and will vote for Jo Jorgenson this time. I think the Ds and Rs are equally evil, with different flavors. My number one issue is war - and the two parties are in lockstep on that subject. Murdering innocent people abroad has wide bipartisan support. GW Bush, now a woke hero, lied us into wars - the longest in our history. We have been at war in Afghanistan longer than we were in Vietnam. Obama ran on ending war- I voted for him because of it. He lied. He kept up the violence in Aghanistan and Iraq, and added Yemen, Libya, and Syria to the list. We are worried about what dead Presidents did a century of more ago, while we forget what happened yesterday. We tear down statues while monsters still live among us, unaccountable.
Is Iraq better without Saddam? Certainly not. Is Libya better without Qaddafi? Certainly not. The results of Obama’s “Arab Spring” speak for themselves. Obama’s war made Libya a nightmare. Upset about slavery? Our actions created a slave trade in Libya.
Libya went from a high development nation to a literal hell on earth with slave markets and a refugee crisis for Europe. No one responsible has been held accountable- not Obama, not Hillary, not Joe Biden. But by all means, tear down that statue of George Washington.
This is the issue I care about the most, which is why I feel the only thing I can do to change it is not vote for the parties that endorse it.
But if you are convinced Trump is going to lose and the end of Republicans is near, look at Fox News’s numbers. They tell a different story. Either way, we will get more war, and more murder of innocents, and more atrocities in our name. Worried about Russian bounties on US troops? Bring them home and none of them die in Afghanistan.
