North Korea - I think I understand how Trump "succeeded"

I suspect to get the peace process started with North Korea, someone told Kim Jong Un that he WOULDN’T have to get rid of his nukes.

And now that Trump has opened his big mouth that he will insist on the nukes being gone and combined that with US/South Korea military exercises, things are looking far less rosy:

Somehow I had the feeling that there was some ‘too good to be true’ aspect to the recent progress with the North Koreans.

A guy like Kim Jong Un is mainly concerned with not ending up like Muammar Gaddafi. And from his point of view, he has good reason to fear the USA’s motivations and question the USA’s honesty/sincerity.

Hell... even the head of the EU is now calling Trump a bad friend
